Greene Family Camp sits on over 275 acres of rolling hills, perfect for casual hiking. This Trail Map should be used as a guide to navigate accessible terrain. Please note that only trails currently marked on this map are cleared and safely passable at this time.
This recommended packing list is a helpful guide for your guests and participants to prepare for their time at camp. We always recommend sturdy, close-toed shoes for maximum comfort and safety while on-site.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is your facility available for rentals?
The retreat center at Greene Family Camp is available beginning-of-August through end-of-May.
What is your rental minimum?
We require a minimum of 25 guests per night.
How many people can your facility accommodate?
Our maximum capacity is 678.
What type of housing do you offer?
We provide housing options to accommodate all types of events and budgets including cabins, hotel-style rooms, and small apartment-style housing. Learn more about our lodging options >
Do you provide linens?
Linens are available for an additional $10 per set. Each set includes a pillow and pillowcase, blanket, fitted and top sheets, and a set of body and hand towels.
Is your campus handicap accessible?
All our new buildings on main camp, including the dining hall, performing arts center, and sports complex are wheelchair/handicap accessible, but our camp is positioned on a few hills and rough terrain with some areas a bit more difficult to access. We have a few ADA rooms available.
Golf carts may be available for rental through an outside vendor. Please inquire for more information.
What time is check-in/checkout?
Check-in is typically at 4pm with dinner as the first meal. Leaders can begin arriving at 2pm to set up. Checkout is by 1pm with lunch as the last meal. Depending on the schedule, groups may be asked to move luggage out of housing spaces by 9am on checkout days with advanced notice. Please speak with Newman staff in advance for an early check-in or late checkout request.
What is the deposit schedule for a contract?

Is there an event space rental fee?
The nightly rate includes one program space that matches the size of your group as well as one pre-event room setup. If additional spaces are available, they may be utilized, but are not guaranteed.
Can I rent your facility for exclusive use?
Yes, we guarantee exclusivity with a minimal contract of $7,500 per night on weeknights and $1,500 per night on weekends with a 2-night minimum on weekends. Some groups may end up being the only group on site, however, we do not guarantee this without the minimum.
Is your catering kosher?
We serve kosher style, meaning we do not serve dairy and meat in the same meal, and we never serve shellfish or pork. If you are interested in a fully kosher retreat please reach out to Chef Danny Robinow to learn more about possibilities and costs associated.
Can we bring our own food?
For specific events, we may allow outside catering with prior approval. Please inquire with our team to learn more. We do allow packaged snacks for non-meal times with prior approval. No nuts at anytime may be brought on-site and the Newman staff will not be responsible for serving or managing these items.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
We may allow alcohol, with prior approval dependent on the type of event. Please reach out to learn more about our policies. Newman is not liable or responsible for alcohol brought on premises and our staff cannot store or serve any alcohol.
Do you have a medical professional on staff?
No, we do not have a medical professional on property during your stay. We do have basic first-aid supplies and AEDs throughout camp, but we recommend bringing supplies or a medic to join your group if needed.
Do you have WIFI?
We have a robust WiFi network throughout all our new buildings on main camp with just a few lodging locations with more sparce connectivity. For adult and family groups we will post the network information. Please let us know if you would prefer to have your participants disconnect and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.
What should I pack?
Please refer to our Suggested Packing List > to use as a guide. We encourage folks to wear either closed toed shoes or sandals with a back. The weather can be unpredictable in the Texas Hill Country.
